- The former fire station was still visible on the 1925 OS map, and is mentioned in documents from 1742 to 1939. By 1930 the fire brigade had been disbanded, and the building was sold to the Parish Council in 1933. In 1939 a new fire service was established, although it is not clear whether they operated from the former fire station or the new fire station, located on Dunstable Road
